HELPING FOCUS ON MENTAL ILLNESS STRENGTHEN ITS IMPACT

At So What’s the Plan, we believe strongly in giving back to the community. That’s why we regularly donate our time to volunteer work, and one of the projects we’re especially proud of is our collaboration with Focus on Mental Illness, a local charity doing incredible work supporting those affected by severe mental illness.

The charity is relatively young, and with a small team stretched thin, finding the time to effectively communicate their mission was proving difficult. That’s when a chance encounter introduced their team to Samantha and So What’s the Plan—and we immediately saw the charity’s potential.
​
Because we are strategic marketers, we didn’t just conduct research - we developed a communications strategy. Through research with service users and potential sponsors, including corporate donors and high-net-worth individuals, we identified key missed opportunities in how the charity was presenting itself both online and in its literature.
The message was strong, but it wasn’t quite connecting with the right audiences.
From there, we got to work. A revised website is currently in development, fresh literature has been created, and a new fundraising team has been established. Thanks to these changes and the new strategy, the charity feels revitalised and is better positioned to expand its reach and secure the support it needs to continue its important work.
